As the Chiefs kicked off another week of training camp, here are the key takeaways from their last practice session.
Head coach Andy Reid is leading another week of intense practice. Tuesday marked the seventh session in pads in nine days. Yesterday, the team completed 11-on-11 periods, a 7-on-7 segment, and long-drive drills.
Travis Kelce found his footing once again, connecting with a throw-and-catch over the middle of the field from Patrick Mahomes. They capped it off with multiple completions in the 7-on-7 segment.
On the other side of the field, safety Jaden Hicks carried over his Monday form with a pass-breakup on the sidelines. What’s even more impressive is a diving pass breakup down the field later in the 11-on-11 drills.
Finally, two cornerbacks stood out on Saturday. Rookie D'Arco Perkins-McAllister managed a pass breakup over the middle. He was joined by Nohl Williams, who had a diving pass breakup.
As a freshman at Louisiana Tech in 2022, Cyrus Allen led all FBS freshmen with 10 plays of 30 or more yards.
In just 10 games, he caught 22 passes for 500 yards and four touchdowns while averaging an eye-catching 22.7 yards per reception, the second-highest mark in the nation. The big-play production announced his arrival as a vertical threat and set the tone for a college career that would later include stops at Texas A&M and a breakout 13-touchdown season at Cincinnati before the Chiefs selected him in the fifth round of the 2026 draft.
